3 Essential Components of a Fulfilled Motherhood

Many if not most moms feel overwhelmed, burdened, and exhausted so much of the time. They worry they have let themselves go.

I taught a free webinar on this today, and these are some simple ways that you can start seeing some changes in your life as a mom. Go from confused to confident, surviving to thriving by prioritizing the following:

 1. Connection with God (or a Higher power/nature), and yourself. Did you know you have a relationship with yourself? To you tend to ignore your own needs or if you talk to yourself, only criticize? I talk about this a lot in the webinar, and how powerful it can be to start to mend that relationship. Here are a few ideas of how to do that:

    • carve out time EVERY DAY
    • journal
    • brain download (just write down everything on your mind)
    • pray
    • kind words in mirror
    • take care of self
    • move your body daily
    • nap/eat/have fun without guilt

2. A problem to solve. Wait, what Diane? You're saying we need more problems? Here's the deal- our brains are made to solve problems. So if we don't have a fun problem, something that fills us with purpose and ignites us, then we'll be focusing on boring problems. You know, like what my sink and laundry baskets look like right now. To start the shift to focusing on problems/challenges to bring fulfillment, I suggest:
    • list what you want/dream
    • instead of scrolling, research (what you want!)
    • anticipate!
    • plan (even little things to look forward to!)
    • learn
    • try new things
    • be willing to be bad at things!

3. Coaching. What is coaching? Only one of the most powerful things. Coaching has changed my life, not to be cliché. One method for self-coaching is to follow these steps:
    • write your thoughts (like a brain download)
    • pick one
    • how does it make you feel?
    • notice your actions
    • choose if you want to continue to think/feel/act that way
    • brainstorm other possibilities
    • practice
    • find coaching podcasts

You'll really want to watch the webinar to fill in the rest. It's just 30 minutes! Click here for the replay (but hurry, link expires by Saturday night!)
